Our People

We believe our people are our greatest asset. At core of our culture is the creation of a family environment where equality, inclusion and safety are values ingrained in every member of the team.

These values are part of our hiring practices as we want team members from different backgrounds, experiences, and orientations to come together and at the same time help each other with the appreciation of people’s differences as well as their similarities.

It is very important to ensure that every team member understands the importance of safety for themselves and their colleagues. At R2 Gaming this is reinforced every day through our policies, new team member orientation and regular health and safety and team meetings.

Regular safety audits are conducted with staff required to complete workplace and hazardous materials training, working at heights certification as well as always having some team members certified in first aid.

Hazardous materials are locked away in controlled areas with access limited to a few key team members.

All our office and warehouse environments conform to all safety requirements with the local safety departments regularly invited to audit our facilities and provide improvement suggestions.

Mother Earth

It’s one thing to say you care about the environment, but its another thing to act towards its protection.

At R2 Gaming, we take the responsibility to care for mother earth very seriously and this responsibility governs what products we use, our operational decisions and our leadership to minimize our carbon footprint and environmental impact.

An ongoing exercise, we continually look for new methods and technologies to reduce our impact.

Some of the initiatives we have undertaken include:

  • Over the last few years, all the lighting in our offices and warehouses has been converted from fluorescent lamps to LED, thereby improving efficiency while also having an extended component life.
  • Exterior lighting is also LED controlled by photocells thereby ensuring lighting only comes on at dark and turn off automatically at daylight.
  • All heating, cooling or other equipment must be high efficiency. Timers are installed to eliminate unnecessary heating and cooling when our facilities are vacant.
  • Washrooms are fitted with low-flow toilets and water saving faucets.
  • All bottled water dispensers in our kitchens and waiting areas have been replaced with water coolers with direct plumbing thereby eliminating the use of plastic water bottles.
  • As a policy, we only use chemicals and cleaning product that are natural and use Low level Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC).
  • Electronic components are required to be RoHS compliant, and all repair materials are required to be lead free.
  • We follow a fix first strategy whereby we first attempt to repair any defective equipment. If unsuccessful, we then harvest any re-useable parts before responsibly recycling whatever remains.
  • R2 GAMING has a recycling and waste management programme. All metal, plastic and electronics materials are separated in individual containers before they are sent to a certified recycling processor
  • All wrapping and shipping materials selected must be reusable. We have a specific area in our warehouse designated for storing these materials so that they are readily accessible for shipping. When product is shipped to the field, we require that the ship materials and boxes be re-used for further shipping activities. Most of our boxes and wrapping material has been utilized many times over.
  • Within our offices, we encourage the use of electronic imaging to avoid the need to print and store documents. If paper is printed, we encourage dual side printing. Any non-sensitive single side wastepaper is re-used for notes rather than using new note pads.
  • As our service vehicle are replaced, our preference will be to look at electric and hybrid options available.

At R2 Gaming we recognize the value of giving back and supporting the communities in which our team members live, work, and raise their families. We feel our contributions and volunteer efforts help create stronger, healthier places which give a sense of belonging.

R2 Gaming supports community and charitable initiatives through volunteer activities, partnering in fundraising activities and by direct financial donations. We encourage and support participation in these very important charity and volunteer activities.

Some of the things that we do:

  • Every August we look forward to the Annual BC Gaming Facilities Charity Golf Tournament. A fantastic cause, this event raises money for the Children’s Wish Foundation and enables wishes to come true. R2 Gaming is honoured every year to be allowed to sponsor teams and to provide volunteer time to assist the BCLC team in making this a winning event. Every year we also allocate one golf sponsorship where we ask BCLC to nominate 3 individuals who should be recognised for their contributions to their colleagues or to the community, these being individuals who would not normally get the opportunity to participate.
  • The “New Horizons Responsible Gambling Conference” is an annual event which brings together responsible gambling researchers, policy makers, and industry representatives from around the world to discuss developments and best practices and solutions to reduce gambling harm to players and their families. Every year R2 Gaming is proud to be able to do their part by providing a sponsorship so that this important initiative can continue every year.
  • R2 Gaming sponsors corporate events put on by our customers in support of their selected charity of choice.
  • R2 Gaming partners with local food banks to assist in providing much needed resources, goods, and services.

If you thrive in a family-oriented environment where equality, inclusion, teamwork, and safety are values ingrained in every member of the team, R2 may be the place for you. Bringing diverse backgrounds and experiences together to do meaningful work while growing through personal development is the basis of our working philosophy. If this sounds like a fit, feel free to submit your Resume.
